Druaga no Tō ~the Aegis of URUK~ - 07

the tower of druaga episode 07

Episode 07 “Dance with a One-Winged Dragon” at a glance:

Running away from yet another enemy, Jil’s party runs into Neeba and a bunch of other climbers, waiting for the passage to clear from a very powerful one-winged dragon. Instead of waiting on the sidelines, Jil decides to try and rally support to go help the army in defeating the dragon. It takes his party a while, but they finally convince all the climbers to go help for their own aspirations of wealth and fame. Jil ends up piercing the dragon’s flame sacks to kill it and is cheered on at the end.

Episode 06 “Bridge of Lightning” at a glance:

The party comes across an ex-guardian named Gigi and decide to stop at his town to rest, where Jil is robbed of his wallet (containing a grand sum of 2 copper). When Coopa and Melt get into a fight, Coopa storms off and accidentally runs into the thief, Yuri. Apparently since the coming of the Summer, it’s been particularly hard on the citizens of this town, and his father had actually disappeared into the monster-ridden mines to try to retrieve some of the precious stones that are there, and hadn’t been heard from since.

Druaga no Tō ~the Aegis of URUK~ - 05

Episode 05 “Jiusudora’s Trap” at a glance:

Our heroes continue to make their way through the tower when they come across some interesting traps. Of these many traps that shape-shift the characters into different forms (including furries, Coopas, and even one that turns them into 8-bit like in the old arcade game), the most interesting yet is the genderswap trap. Much to the diehard fans and male characters pleasure, all the characters change genders for some obvious entertainment.

They come to a shortcut that has one catch. You have to put on a funny performance to get through. Although the characters try very hard at comedy, they all fail. Jil even tries his notorious “Roper dance”, but all of their attempts fail. The party ends up going back through the traps to climb the tower without the help of a shortcut.

Druaga no Tō ~the Aegis of URUK~ - 04

Episode 04 “Band of Hands” at a glance:

After another depressing retreat from an enemy, A-mei asks her party just how much experience any of them have had in climbing the tower. To no surprise, none of them besides her had ever ventured anywhere of significance in the tower, so she explains her knowledge of the different floors in the tower of Druaga. Although Jil and his party would certainly face many monsters, another dangerous opponent is a fellow climber, Pazuz, who is seen killing other innocent climbers.

Druaga no Tō (The Tower of Druaga)

OP: “Swinging” by Muramasa☆

This is a pretty cool OP with a pretty good song. The part that was most interesting to me about it is that all the characters are in a normal high school environment: riding trains, sitting by the movies on a bench, wearing a uniform. This led me to believe that the whole fantasy-magic-medieval-action storyline was going to be another .hack//sign virtual type of thing (which, to my delight, is not the case).
