Broken Anime

The airport… 5AM… *yawn*

After many long hours flying and traveling, dealing with crazy LAX airport and taxi cabs…. we’ve finally made it to our hotel and to AX 08!

We’ve got meager provisions of bread and peanut butter, but we’re here and ready to sleep for the first time in a couple days. I find it strange that people dressed up in their costumes to come to wait in line at preregistration. But there were a few decent ones mixed in in the many horrible ones. Of course, Kazeryu and i counted at least a dozen Naruto-cosplayers (narutards) just walking back and forth from the hotel to the convention center to get our registration passes.

Oh well, tomorrow we will have more pictures of the center… of course… since no one was really there today for the actual event. Tomorrow we’ll be busy running around to the opening ceremony.. checking the first lootz in the merchant booths and, of course, going to the AMV contest.

If you’re looking to attend the concerts or masquerade, apparently you have to line up at the ticket booth for main events, and get yourself tickets for individual events for about $20 or so (or so we were told) :(. The AMV contest tomorrow at 8:00pm supposedly doesn’t require a paid ticket, but when we lined up at the main events ticket booth, they told us to show some proof that we paid for a hotel associated with Anime Expo, if we wanted tickets today (…why…?). We didn’t bring anything concerning that there at the time, but supposedly we don’t need any of that hotel info stuff to get our tickets tomorrow for the AMV contest. Ryo and I are hoping to see Koop there, cuz we’re his fanboys.

Through all the hangups and random stuff we had to go through today, we’re all pretty exhausted. As I’m typing this at 8:44PM, two of our four are already conked out.

All we have to do is rest up and await a full day of otakufun tomorrow. Remember, drop us a line if you wanna hook up or just hang out with us :P. Also, if you’re there cosplaying, let us know so we can get your pictures up on the site!!!

Hell yes… the ads are so huge in LA. Ben stiller is kicking over a dozen floors of ass.
