“Make Sure You Plan Ahead Whether it be a Trip or Curse”

Admittedly, I was kinda disappointed after watching this episode. Not only did it focus on a not-a-midarezaki character, it doesn’t look like Sakurai will even become anywhere close to a main character. Which is sad because she wears glasses which makes her moe by default (Disregard that pic, you want this one). The point is that what purpose is there to have a little subplot on Sakurai? Well, at least she has some dirty secrets.

Chika totally wants it

I’m kinda getting used to it by now, but another thing that has been bothering me is the displacement/disfiguration of people’s mouths. This isn’t such a great example, but look to the first pic for a better one. Most of the time it’s not that bad though, so this is something I can bear with.

The last thing that I don’t really like about this series is that there has to be sfx for just about everything. And these typically come in over-the-top sfx that are more distracting than describing a sound. I was tempted to just mute the sound when Kyouka was raging through the travel agency.

I enjoyed watching the varying reactions of the family to Kyouka’s cooking, and to top it off she turns it into a competition deciding who would have the “honor” of accompanying her. Yuuka didn’t seem to have a have a problem (Is that really you my love…?) and Ginka was being force fed by Chika to futher their “raburabu” situation (Actually laughed when Ginka was spirited away), but how the hell did Chika manage to finish the “rat poison” (sayeth Ouka) before Hyouka? Okay, she deserves some screen time due to her late entrance (I’m talking about Chika, not Suigintou mind you) but really…what would stop a robot (sorry, biological weapon) from eating something disgusting…

Wow Japan…I don’t know what to say. At least a woman is offering the candy, but you still can’t see the faces of those 2 guys in the back. Were this America, Yuuka would actually be a 20 year old actor and Chris Hanson would be walking around the corner by now.

Wow you’re pretty manly…wait you’re not gay are you?

You know, Sakurai is going to come out of this thinking that Ginka is some kind of ideal man only to realize he’s gay. I guess that since he’s from the mafia he knows how to act manly, but just doesn’t. Either way, Sakurai is bound to come out of this with a bunch of disappointment. And possibly a Chika armed with box cutters and axes.

Ouka really needs to learn how to accept defeat. He’s outnumbered 6:1 and any good father would realize that resistance is futile. It’s only a matter of time before he gives in and adapts to Kyouka’s spontanaity.

Good to see more of Chika. Gotta love that twin tail goodliness.

Shame for not paying more attention to Yuuka glomping Teika. I could have settled for finishing this ep before the eye catch and just looping this for 10 minutes, but it didn’t even get fully on screen. Sadness ensues.
