After seeing Nunnally, Lelouch decides that Zero’s cause is no longer in her best interest, since she is so determined to achieve things through peaceful methods. While Lelouch wanders off and becomes an emotional wreck, Suzaku is leading a fleet of ships to corner the Black Knight’s ship. When Lelouch finally realizes that his war is no longer just for “Nunnally’s sake”, but for people’s interests other than his own, he returns to the battlefield to save the Black Knights. Then, he surprises everyone by announcing that he is going to accept Nunnally’s offer and help to set up the area of Nippon with the Britanian government.

Review: In this episode, we get to see a side of Lelouch that we’ve never really seen before. His brains and foresight have always made him an invincible force against Britania, always one step ahead. But, after meeting with Nunnally, he is reduced to bullying Japanese and trying to use sex and refrain (drugs), all of the things that he had stood against in the past.

It’s no longer a self-driven war for Zero, but rather a responsibility to do this because he has always been the last hope for the people of Japan. In my eyes, with this change, Lelouch has gone from the Light type character to more of a “hero”. Maybe Zero is justice after all. (I still hate Suzaku)
