While browsing around the other day, I came across a news article about Bleach: Memories of Nobody coming to America on June 11 & 12. Viz Media and National CineMedia’s “Fathom Events” are teaming up to bring this Japanese release to the large numbers of American fans in over 300 different theatres. Although I’m glad that anime in America is still on the rise, I’ve got some major beef with this movie.
For all of you Bleach fans who haven’t seen this movie, it’s probably a good idea to stop reading if you don’t want some spoilers to ruin your experience. For more information about when this movie might be coming to you, check out fathomevents.com or ANN for more info.
I could begin this rant by introducing the movie to you and summarizing it. Well I’m sorry, but I’m not going to, because if you’re a Bleach fan that hasn’t seen it, I really discourage reading onward… And for those of you who have seen it, why the hell do you need a summary.
From the moment I started to watch this movie (which, admittedly, was a couple of months ago, so bear with me), I knew that it was setting me up for some disappointment. And little did I know, but I would soon meet that disappointment a few minutes later in the form of a young and vibrant female named Senna.
In my opinion, Senna was not only the coolest, cutest, deepest character that Bleach has ever added to the show, but she was the only reason (besides the better animation) that this movie was something more than a lengthy filler episode.
As any of you who have watched this must know, this movie takes place in between episodes that were already released… which pretty much means that since episodes have already come out that take place after this in the time line, that it would be unnatural to put a new character in (since nobody would have mentioned her in the future). Throughout the whole movie, I was torn apart, because I knew that Senna’s glory would not last.
It would be bad enough if Bleach had killed off such a colorful character, but I think I would have been all right with a beautiful, mournful death. Instead, they give the excuse that since she is merely the Memory Rosary, that they “will not remember that which should not have existed”.
Seriously Bleach, what the hell (*profanity censor*).
Senna had that vibrant female character that the show desperately needed in my very honest opinion. I’m not very interested in another love attraction for Ichigo, but at this point, Tito and co. are investing their sexual tension in Orihime because of her popularity.
And it’s hard to argue Rukia as a strong character since she’s just turned into a crotchety, angry, short woman whose place in Ichigo’s heart was forgotten before it was even realized. Seriously what happened to the good old pre-filler Soul Society arc of Bleach. Sure Ichigo was a hero who just wanted to rescue Rukia… but for what reasons? Yeah yeah, it’s a hero’s duty and all that… but he seriously CARED about her. It’s exactly these reasons that I can’t handle these extremely huge shows in large doses… the filler and popular demand wears me out. Sometimes it’s much better to kill a show in it’s prime (although Bleach still has a while to go before it becomes another Inu Yasha).
But back to the movie…
If you haven’t seen it and are still reading this: shame on you, go see it when it hits theatres. And to all you other people who have read this far, tell me your opinion on Senna and how you felt when they ripped her out of your Bleachy hearts (I’m not really that big of a Bleach fan, but it killed me :/).

in my opinion i agree that they should have left Senna in she really did bring a lot to the movie. there was a completely different mood that was being evicted by her character in the movie. it gave it a different feeling as you watched compared to the regular episodes.

i think that senna was the only good girl character in bleach. rukia is anoying and is always acting high and mighty. orihime is just a poor excuse for a character simple as that. soifon is a bitch. matsumoto is retarted. yoruichi is ok i guess. but senna is the only one of these women that actually had a real reason to be rescued(out of the girls that needed to be rescued.) i dont know how to explain it but as you said senna is desperatly needed in the show.

Well there isn’t much left for me to say seeing as how everyone else has said just about everything i think as well………guess i post just a bit late :/……… I do agree with u there with how Senna died, there should have been more to it like please, if u are going to put in such a lively, outgoing, beautiful character who is one of the main reasons this movie was so good in the first place at least make her go with a bang or something……….
I stopped watching Bleach for awhile because the Bount arc was kinda boring in my opinion, but I saw this movie on Sunday, and it was great. This movie is the reason I’ve started watching Bleach again, I’m kinda of a IchixKia fan, but after seeing this, I’ve changed my opinions.

As for what I think about Senna… Who votess they make an off-spin dedicated to her? She is awesome enough to need it. She is even more awesome in the bit where she walked across the lights. She’s so funny.

I completely agree. DX I hated the way she died! I wasn’t that into Bleach either, but I thought it would be interesting to watch. Because of that purple haired female I started watching it~ I mean I kind of liked Bleach before I watched the movie…but it wasn’t like the anime I would force myself to stay up another half hour to watch. I loved Senna, and I thought that she was a great character; very peppy and usually pleased. And I liked the relationship with her and Ichigo as well. But as the movie went, I didn’t think it was fantastic, I hate the show itself anyway, but the plot just seemed confusing, and Ichigo kills the white-haired leader of the banished clan in a snap. btw in the epi 204 I noticed she uses the yellow/orange ribbon (watching at youtube give me a break pls XDD) and not the red one I don’t remember but at the end of the movie wasn’t she with red ribbon?
I thought the movie itself wasn’t special except for Senna. She really lifted the whole experience and her end broke my heart. There was something about her sad innocence and temporal nature of her existence which made her so sympathetic even before the heartbreaking ending. True, the code is quite clearly a strong declaration either that Ichigo does remember her and she does still exist, or even more specifically that she is still alive; but the graveyard scene is so powerful it sticks with me. I would love to see this character come back in some form.

I finished watching the movie five minutes ago,and I agree with you.Senna should have been left in.It was obvious that withing the couple of days Ichigo and her had known each other,they were in love.I personally like her better than I ever did Rukia.

OK so im getting a little irritated with
Bleach” I mean look the series has been going on a good while now and although i am a guy and should be talking about action flicks or something i cant help but be entrigued with some of the very in depth and surprising love stories built into almost every anime today. ok so you have Orihime Rukia and Senna which in my eyes have been the main Sudo love interests in the show the only problem is THEY NEVER GO ANYWHERE! Rukia is just like one of those like hardcore feminist bitches like alanis morisette with a sword. shes to serious and never in a good mood i dont think she smiles the entire show. Orihime has got the personality of a rock with down syndrom and no offense huge tits dont always have the ability to carry a character that has no interesting qualities. so here you have Senna, at first i was like ok its just another sub character girl thats annoying and wont be around long. like the illusion girl for the Bontou series and athe visor girl from later on. but after getting into the movies it starts to reveal some of the more serious side of the character the memories of the blanks come through and she truly starts showing feelings for Inchigo. Ok so even though shes troubled by the memories of every blank sights and sound of death abuse happiness laughter fear hate abuse u name it shes got it. So should she be like insane? nope shes a pretty well rounded cute character with shinigami powers that supercede most of the prolonged characters of series…. so why in the hell did the writers get rid of her character why theory is that they are trying to make another Inuyasha the difference is you knew they loved each other in inuyasha , in bleach the characters lose interest or DIE! before they even have a chance. ok guys lets get going with the series ive seen nearly every chararacter hit bonkai or some other state of supremem fighting ive seen tons opf enemies fall and the good guys prevail WHAT I HAVENT SEEN IS A DECENT LOVE STORY TO THIS ANIME WTH MAN!
Dude i totally agree with you. I like action flicks as much as the next guy but I also enjoy a good love interest in between and in Bleach the feelings between Ichigo and Senna are so easy to spot and were so real. Plus it seemed like something that would actually go places. I really do hope they decide to bring her back later on in that kind of way where at the end of one episode she all of a sudden appears behind Itchigo and actually says “Ichigo?” and as soon as he turns around and sees her it goes to a too be continued and continues on the next episode you know. Thats atleast how i would do it. And i agree on the bount thing because that just annoyed me. Senna just seemed like the caracter that would make Bleach into the anime that it was ment to be and not just another Inuyasha which actually wasnt that bad for a while but ended to suddenly. Or another idea would be to have Senna return but without her memory and they could have like a short season of trying to get her memory back and maybe even bring back the dude trying to use her to get reveng on the soul society. of the few best female character in Bleach comparing that cry baby Orhime Inoue. When she was
taking to Hueco Mundo and she couldn’t defend herself against two slutty female Arrancar Loly and
Menoly that they were hungry for Sosuke Aizen penis. They were afraid that Orihime will steal aizen
away from them and they were so jealous of her. Specificity Loly i think she was in love with
Sosuke Aizen that is why she beat the crap out of Orihime. Loly was seeing Aizen giving all the

to create a body, her face, and her school uniform and everything else more than Ichigo
Kurosaki. Raw vs Smackdown 2010 i been having a little difficult how create her again with her
face, the body and everything else if took me almost two month to create her perfectly! She is
one of my favorite character of all time in the movie Bleach Memories Of NoBody. I really
dislike Orhime Ionue there so much about her that i really hate she is so annoying and so
stupid and everything that she does messy thing up. I like Rukia Kuchiki and i think she is
good person and she will become best bride for Ichigo Kurosaki someday on let the owe of Bleach

Rukia or Fade to Black: I Call Your Name. I didn’t like the way that director and writers kill
two of my favorite character the two siblings of Rukia Kuchiki Homura and Shizuku. Just like they
did with Senna, young women Yoshino Sōma from Bounts and now Homura and Shizuku siblings of Rukia
from the movie. What next scooby doo and shaggy they are going to kill them too. I remember in
the series and even it in the movie he say same thing that Rukia change his destiny and his
life that is the main reason he is fighting for and willing to protect her of all cost. Even it
mean putting his life on the line to protect the one he love Rukia and including his family,
friends, Shinigami, and his worse enemies. I don’t know why people dislike Rukia Kuchiki
because she is the main character and she is reason why Ichigo Kurosaki became popular in the
Soul Society in the first place. She is the reason why Bleach became popular in the first
place. Even thought I’m same page with as you guys wishing that Ichigo Kurosaki fall in love
with Senna. But that is not going to happen because she is not part of their storyline. Please
people understand that she was not that unimportant character for writer to put her in the series.
They just put her in the first movie Bleach Memories Of Nobody because they needing to write her
storyline where she once alive and live in Karakura Town. I want her to come back too just like
Angela and Eddie and everyone else say same thing about it the director and writer of the scrip
they need to put Senna in series of Bleach. She will be a wonderful character in the series of
Bleach i don’t know if you guys agree with me or not. I have a feeling Bleach will end soon

to see the movie Bleach Memories Of NoBody just to see new character name Senna. I heard from
people saying that line was pack if took almost like six to eight hours trying gather the people
in the movie theaters to see the new release movie just came out for English dubbing from Japan. I
was like wow from what i heard people saying they came to see unimportant character in the movie
Anime only. Imagine if they put her in the series of Bleach is will be way better than that stupid

yeah i agree with 99 percent of you guys, im late i know but senna was the best like she had that personality and that kinda goofeyness and cuteness that actually made her appealing. i got pissed when she got killed off it would be awesome if they did more with her, in all fairness rukia is an 50 something year old bitch, and orihime has big boobs but shea an idiot, she fuckin doesnt attack enemies just cuz they are humans even if her friends lives are in danger. senna and ichigo wuda been perfect, senna’s cheery upbeat kinda goofey outlook is exactly what ppl want to see with ichigos usually depressing mood
